What is the procedure for a marriage between a muslim and hindu

I want to marriy a hindu girl (She is my best frnd) She is agree for marriage but her family are against for this marriage.
Herewith I would like to tell you that as you have said that you both are major having attended the age of legal marriage you can marry in accordance with special marriage Act before civil court in the local jurisdiction of you.

There is two way. Either the hindu girl convert herself in muslim religion and get married to you under muslim law and religion or both of you without changing your respective religion get marriage under special marriage act.

You can marry under the provisions of the Special Marriage Act. For that sake, you have to apply jointly with the girl to the local Marriage Registrar. After your application for marriage, notices will be sent to your and yours girlfriend's houses within one month. After that one month and within two months you both will have to again visit the Marriage Registrar Office to get registration of your marriage.
