A legal heir certificate is necessary for the transfer of property or entitlement to benefits titled to the decedent. In contrast, the succession certificate is valid for the permitted successors claiming the deceased's movable and immovable property.

In order to transfer the immovable property in your names, you need to get the same mutated at sub-registrar office via deed for declaration. You need a survivor certificate in this regard from the concerned SDM/Tehsildar office.
Second is called Succession certificate which is only required for movable properties (eg bank amount, insurance or pension amount etc)
You need to hire expired advocate in this regard

If your father died intestate i.e., without WILL then you have to get the succession petition filed in the court and then after the succession is granted you can get it transferred from appropriate authorities.
Legal Heir certificate will only declare who all are the Legal Heirs of the deceased and Succession Certificate will give you the right on the property of the deceased.
