Understanding Gift Deed if I qualify as family for property transfer

21-Jun-2024 (In Family Law)
Hi, my maternal grandfather wants to transfer his property to me and my sister by a gift deed. Our mother was his own elder daughter. However, she passed away in 2012. Are we eligible for being family members of my maternal grandfather?

Hello, Your grandmother can give the property to anyone by way of sale or gift. If she is doing this willfully there is no law barring her. So I suggest please move forward with the gift deed. Regards
