Summons received from National Commission for Women
29-Dec-2023 (In Family Law)
Me and my mother ( a 68yrs widowed lady) has received a summon from NCW for appearing before them for Jan Sunwai against a complaint file by my bhabi. She has filed a complaint under "Right to live with dignity" with NCW. She along with my brother is living at her parents home from last 3.5yrs. She had earlier filed a false dowry complaint with CAW cell (around 4 months back), which was closed by them. My questions are:
a) whether it is necessary to appear before NCW??
b) how can I protect myself and my mother against such harassment???
You have to appear in person or through some lawyer. Please engage one. Make a proper representation and apprise the NCW regarding the true facts. For further consultancy and legal services you may contact us.

In this regard, I advice you that first of all your bhabhi need to prove the factual of you people living in domestic relationship and if she was not living with you people then there is no way she can harass you. Her case easily be dismissed but I advice you to attend NCW hearings so as to rely them as to your non involvement in the said matter with regard to your bhabhi. For further clarification, please contact.
