An aunt in my colony lost her husband three years back. Her son is now picking up fights with her everyday and asking her to give him all her property. He is also threatening her to leave their home and taking away all her fixed deposits. She feels threatened and insecure in this home. I want to know what can I Suggest her and whom she shall approach to get her son to behave himself and also protect her rights over the property and her dignity.

I want to know the status of property..if your aunt has inherited from her husband or not.

He cannot do so such thing, she can file a case before police fir harrasment and torture by her son. And she can disbarred him from claiming any right in her property this is the only remedy in your case

Hello,
For the query you posted, i would advice the following;

In accordance with the recent supreme court judgement, such an elderly parent can easily ask the abusive child to leave the house and be at rest.
Further she can as well make certain certain deeds which curtails the right of her abusive son and will ultimately trick him to behave properly.

From the limited facts provided, i hope this answers your query.

She should approach Local SDM in her area with a application describing all the activities Carried out by her son .The SDM has all the power to tackle such unfortunate happenings and issue required direction to the son,police,and other authority.SDM is duty-bound to take action under Senior citizen protection act.
