12-Sep-2023 (In Family Law)
My husband passed away recently...I had been married for 23 yrs. And staying in my In laws house since then....we have separate floors...my in-laws on the ground floor and we on the first floor...this house has been brought after selling a house which was inherited by my mother in law from her parents...I want to know if I or my son have a share in this house after my husband's death...do we have a right over this property?

Hello The house was purchased after selling the previous one which belonged to your mother in law. Your mother in law has complete right over that house unless she gives it to you or the children. You cannot have a right in that. Regards

Hello, In that property ur husband had half share. Ur husband purchase any property from his personal money ? Ur husband passed away so ur son have share in ur in-laws property. That property ur mother in law's maternal property so she has full possession on that property. If she ready to give share to ur son in that property it is good, otherwise u file a suit of partition.
