Hello, since you are legally wedded wife and the husband has not provided any maintenance for you and the twins, you may redeem the pledged jewellery, particularly if the jewels belong to your stridhan / marriage jewels, in order to prevent auction or loss of the same; however, it is advisable to redeem the jewels through proper payment records and preserve all receipts, pledge details and proof of ownership to avoid future disputes. You are also entitled to initiate legal proceedings for child maintenance, interim maintenance, return of stridhan/jewellery and other reliefs under the maintenance laws, Domestic Violence Act and applicable matrimonial laws.

whether the receipt was in whose name, because if the receipt was in your husband's name it was not possible to redeem. whether you filed any maintenance case if so you may also file interim application for return of articles. if you not filed just give a complaint before your near by All women police station they will help you to redeem your jewels without problem

You have not stated with whom your husband pledged the jewels, whether with a bank/ financial institution or a pawn broker/money lender. In any case, even if you repay the loan in full, they will deliver the pledged jewellery ONLY to the person who pledged them. If you are officially the pledgee/pawnee, you can redeem the jewels after repaying the loan fully.

If the jewellery belongs to you (especially your stridhan), you have a right to redeem it even if your husband pledged it. Normally, redeeming your own jewellery will not create any legal problem for you. However, before redeeming, keep proof relating to ownership, pawn receipt details and payment made by you. Since you are living separately and maintaining the twins without support, you may also seek maintenance for yourself and the children through appropriate legal proceedings. If there is apprehension that your husband may create issues later, it is advisable to maintain proper records and receipts regarding redemption of the jewellery.

You cannot simply walk into the bank and ask for the jewels since the jewels have not been pledge in your name. You can only do so, if your husband has passed away, and you are one of the legal Hair/nominee. Currently, I would recommend you to file a maintenance case and file for a return of property petition at the same court and ask the bank to hold the jewels.
