Reimbursement of wedding expenses (under hindu marriage)

My marriage was fixed on 29th january this yesterday but unfortunately the groom's family denied or show their inacceptance for this marriage just 3 days before . Now, i want them to reimburse my expenses of 2 lakhs approx which i have spend as advances and payments in this regard. Plz suggest
on the above mentioned query the legal opinion from my part is that please file immediately FIR against the so called in laws under Section 498 a that is called dowry prohibition act . after the filing of FIR when the investigation is in progress then the so called in laws contact your parents for settlement .

Dear Client,
You can simply lodge an FIR stating the averments that you have stated now. The police will take an appropriate action for the same and then the opposite party will come up for a compromise.
However you can file an alternate civil recovery suit for recovery of the aforementioned amount.
