Registration of Nikal under special marriage act

10-Jun-2023 (In Family Law)
My husband and I got married by nikah 10/12/2018 and registered the nikah under special marriage act on 9/06/19. Now my husband wants to divorce me by Muslim law and not via court. Can I challenge the divorce? Can I move to court to stop him from doing so ? If yes how?

If your marriage is registered then the divorce can only be granted by the court. It can be either by mutual or contested divorce. Without going to court your husband will not be able to take divorce because your marriage is registered. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

Divorce can only be granted by court and no other authority has power to do so. If your husband is threatening to divorce you in any customary way, without any reason then you can seek legal recourse for the same. For any further legal assistance please feel free to contact Thanks
