Procedure of Inter Religion Register Marriage

I am christian and my boy friend is Hindu Brahmin. We have 7 years age different.I am 7 years elder than my boy friend.We would like to get marry.My family is ok for Register Marriage but My Boy friend side,not ok for inter religion marriage.Can u please help me to know about the Register Marriage procedure.Is there any problem in Age difference?

Now a days marriage under special marriage Act both the parents is necessary for registration of marriage. but you can marry under christian marriage Act one of the parties must be christian no conversion for other person marriage can be done at one day.

There is no problem for difference in age. It is not a legal bar. You can get married under Special marriage Act without changing each others religion. For that you will have to give 30 days notice in the relevant Registrar Office. But if you are in a hurry to complete the marriage and if the parties are willing to convert to Christianity, then the marriage can be done under the Christian Act. You have two options in respect of inter-religious marriage, either 1. You can register your marriage under the Special Marriage Act, 1954. 2. Or you can register your marriage under Christian Marriage Act, 1872 where it is allowed to register inter-religious marriage. Generally, Age differences between groom and bride is not an issue at all. But there's a minimum age of marriage (i.e. Boy 21 and Girl 18 fyi)

Dear Client, No problem for age Difference.under special marriage act u can marry ur boyfriend.These are the conditions to be eligible for a marriage under this Act: – 1)The bridegroom must be at least 21 and the bride must be at least 18 years of age at the time of marriage. This is the minimum age limit for a boy/girl to marry, respectively. 2)Both the parties must be monogamous at the time of their marriage; i.e. they must be unmarried and should not have any living spouse at that time. 3)The parties should be mentally fit in order to be able to decide for themselves e., they must be sane at the time of marriage. 4)They should not be related to themselves through blood relationships; i.e. they should not come under prohibited relationships, which will otherwise act as a ground to dissolve their marriage. PROCEDURE FOR REGISTRATION OF MARRIAGE. 1.Marriages performed under other forms can also be registered under this Act. 2.The persons intending to register their marriage have to give notice thereof in writing in Triplicate in forms specified under second schedule under Section 5 to the marriage officer of the District in which at least one of the parties to the marriage have reside for a period of not less than 30 days immediately preceding the date on which notice is given. 3.After the receipt of the notice the marriage officer shall enter a true copy in the marriage notice Book and shall cause the notice to be published in the notice board of his office and also see that the notice is published in the office of the marriage Registrrsa in whose District the parties are permanently residing. 4.Any person before the expiration of 30 days may make an objection that the marriage contravenes the essential conditions noted above. 5.After the expiry of 30 days of notice the Sub-Registrar shall register the marriage after the Bridegroom and Bride sign a declaration in form specified inthe Third Schedule in the presence of three witness and they should utter in the language known i(a) take the (b) I take b) to be my lawful wife. The parties may choose any other form like exchanging the Garlands ....etc apart from the above By this process the marriage is deemed to have been solemnized and the marriage officer shall enter the particulars in the marriage certificate book and it will be signed by the partiers to the marriage and Three Witnesses. The procedure of Registration of Marriage performed in other forms All the above procedure is same except that the utterance of i(a) take the (b) I take b) to be my lawful wife. The parties may choose any other form like exchanging the Garlands ....etc apart from the above. After the above procedure is over the parties will be issued an extract of the marriage register.....
