Ongoing DV and Divorce case and illegal possession of my CAR by mywife

Dear SirnMy wife filed DV (2019) and Divorce(2022) and its going on in the court . we both are in different cities and she has illegal possession of my car . as i have not given her my consent to drive my car and i am the legal owner of the car . i asked her to return my car but she refused saying that its a family car and as she is my wife she can use it . now the problem is car crossed 15 years and either i will have to do the registration or scarp the car . for both of this i need to have my car in my possession. i tried going to local police station but they harassed me only as my wife bribed them. do i need to send her a legal notice first through my lawyer asking to return my car and then file a case against her of illegal possession if she does not return the car or i should directly write or personally go and complaint in the RTO about this situation. Please advice
