Dear Sir, In many cases such situation do arise..If it is registered document you can get certified copy of the same otherwise you have to enter into partition deed or family settlement deed refering to earlier unregistered partition deed saying that it is last...Then get registered the new partition deed or settlement deed in the office of Sub-Registrar for more guidance you may visit my office...

you can go the concerned sub registrar office where the document was registered ask them to search in the register of 1975, and get the certified copy of the partition deed and same can be produced in court stating that the original deed is lost or misplaced hence the certified copy of same is produced and the document will be admitted in evidence.
