Im hindu and I wanted to know the procedure for resuming maiden name without divorce. Also Im pregnant and would like to give my child my surname instead of my husbands family name. How do I do that

Hello Sudha. The procedure for reverting to your maiden name would involve the making of a notarized affidavit, publication in a leading newspaper and a gazette notification. You can always give your child your surname. There is absolutely no bar to that.
