My uncle propagated false info leading to divorce

I got married on feb 2022. My uncle in the month of jul started talking to my in laws family and said that we sold my wife's jewels for my brother's education. It lead to a police complaint from my wife. Neither my wife nor my in laws didn't ask us directly instead they gave a complaint. We then returned the jewels and closed the complaint. Later my wife confessed that the issue went to the extreme because of my uncle's involvement. Now our family is under immense grief. We were framed for something which we are not. We proved that the complaint is wrong but still many of our relatives have started seeing as different. My social status has very much degraded among relatives, friends, and workplace. Now my wife is ready to live again with me, that can be handled later but the social status of my family is lost. We find it difficult to even buy grocery from a near by shop. This kind of thing my uncle has done many times, this time it has to be stopped through legal aid.
