Muslim boy agreed to marry if i accept Islam now he refused to marry

17-Jan-2023 (In Family Law)
I am a Hindu girl, in a relationship with a Muslim boy for a long time now. At the start of our relationship he promised me that he would marry me, but for that i would have to accept Islam. I agreed. Then within a year, we broke up. After few months we met again and decided to be in the relationship again. But this time he straightaway told me that he would not marry me and that i should forget about both of us getting married to each other. Now its been more than a year and i am the mother of his daughter. He and his family say that they would get us married only if i accept Islam. But now i don't want to convert. I am of the opinion that he follows his and i follow my religion. But they disagree. Please tell me how i should deal with the situation and who is at fault here. Also, if i proceed to take a legal action against him then who will the law favour? Note: We are not a live-in couple. He used to come to my place and i used to go to his place sometimes.

You can file the cheating case against that person. It shows that you have committed a mistake by being in relationship with such people. You can contact your lawyer to discuss more on the same about the available relief to you.

Your query is not legal related but personal related. You must take only one firm decision either to adopt Muslim religion or not, it is up to you. Your relationship is consensual sex (Sex with mutual consent). As per recent trend you may not get any justice in the Court of law. But you have other options under the provisions of Indian Penal Code.

There is no doubt that you have been duped. In case you and the boy both are adults then it may be difficult to pursue the case but not impossible. You can file a police complaint followed by a court case under different provisions of the IPC.
