Mother disputing gifted money, slandering us and has stopped talking

I am an NRI and got my mother overseas when she gifted a sum of money to her grandkids through online transfer. She still has open visa and went back for few days. Now she is slandering our name and lodged a GD that we have taken the money from her and she is left with nothing. She is living at my apartment and using our car. She also intent to go to consulate to complaint. I have tried calling her she is not answering my calls. I am clueless whatever I am hearing is from the relatives.

the proposition seems very improbable but then it's none of my business to judge the merit of your version. be that as it may you can leave some evidence of your trying to contact your mother and you would be advised to better make a letter served upon her either hard copy or email detailing of what you have heard and how aghast you have been hearing this and would like to talk this through and remove any kind of misconceptions one is harbouring. this piece of evidence will be helpful to you in due course if things goes adverse. regards, Tanmoy Chattopadhyay, M.Sc (Net), LL.B (Delhi), Advocate, High Court, Calcutta.

It is necessary on your part to take expeditious step to talk with your mother to resolve this issue because as a Senior Citizen if she lodges complaint against you, then the Consulate through police will start investigation.
