love marriage of daughter without her parents prior knowledge

10-Dec-2023 (In Family Law)
My daughter, 22 years, loved a guy for years, from her school days and now, before completing her studies, left home and married her lover with the support of her lover's family.Marriage was conducted at a temple for which, we, her parents, were not present. Now my doubt is whether it is necessary to persuade them to undergo procedures stipulated in Special Marriage Act / Hindu Marriage Act for a legal validity and security of my daughter's married life. eventhough it was without our consent. WE, both parties are Hindus. Please mention necessary steps, if any, we have to take, to make her future life trouble free. We want to make it sure that she gets all legal rights as in the case of a mutually agreed and arranged marriage.

as both belongs to Hindu religion by faith, the marriage solmanized at temple as you mentioned shall have legality and after the marriage both the parties should approach the local body wherein the marriage was held to get it registered under the registration of marriage rules 2008. for that both had to file an application

Marriage between two hindus are legal as long as it has done as per hindu religious rites and customs. The above marriage has to be registered at the local body. Your daughter get all the legal rights of a wife even without registration as long as there are other documents for proof of marriage
