Live-in partner forcing me for marriage

26-Oct-2023 (In Family Law)
I am a IIT Bomby graduate. In my final year of my Btech I dated a woman and after a few months I moved to her place and we lived in for around 2 years. She is a widow and her 5 years old son is staying with her maternal grandparents in Faizabad UP. She is a woman of progressive and practical thinking. She holds a very high position in one of the leading MNC in Europe, headquarter in Mumbai. As we were staying in livin our mutual understanding was good and mature enough. We understand that we don't have any personal obligation to each other. In Jan 2022 we mutually decided to end this relationship as she probably found a life partner for her . She again reached out to me a couple of weeks ago. This time things are bad. Something went wrong between them and they didn't marry. Now she is forcing me to marry as I was livin with her for couple of years. Now I am afraid, as marriage between us was never an option between us. Can you please suggest me some legal way, which refrain her from forcing

I suppose You must be having some written documents of some sort to give indication that you people were in live in relationship and never committed of marriage. If that be the case then you may first try to amicably resolve the dispute or you may go legal.

Well, I can mediate between the two of you and can try my best to settle the issues between you and change her mind to marry you. Do not worry at all. I am with you. She will not force you to marry. Rest assured, I will advice you.
