Legal heir certificate in my mother's name after her husband's death

27-Dec-2023 (In Family Law)
My father passed away in January 2020 and we need a legal heir certificate made in my mother's name. My father possessed no immovable property in his name at the time of his death, but only few NSCs are there. However, we wish to get this sorted given the PAN card and NSCs being involved. Can some one please help me get the process for this certificate ?

Approach office of Sub-Registrar concerned of your area for preparation of surviving member certificate (SMC), showing to them list of legal heirs left behind. you may file application online for obtaining SMC but that's a bit difficult and complicated. or take help of expert in this field.

Hi, You can apply for grant of varisan or legal heir certificate by filing an application before the concerned SDM by giving the details of all the legal heirs of the deceased. The patwari will conduct the physical verification about the fact of death and heir heirs before issuing the certificate
