If someone filed sec-9. pls suggest

Dear Sir
my cousin sister husband filed sec-9 against his wife but now after 10 month we got this information from his relative that her husband filed sec -9, we checked and found yes he filed but we dint get any notice last 10 month.
in between 10 month my cousin sister and her family approached many time her husband and family and try to settled the things but they are not ready. every time they say to take divorce. also giving threatening that if you file any case we"ll send you & your family in jail.
pls suggest what should we do.
Section 9 Petition under Hindu Marriage Act is for seeking Judicial separation. This is a step before seeking divorce. It might be possible that notice was issued to you in the petition but was not served. Engage a lawyer to defend it properly. You can consult us for legal services.
