I want to file a writ of habeas corpus against my parents. How long will it take for the court to take some action. I desperately want to move out from this house. My mental state has become such that I've tried committing suicide.

Habeas corpus is filed before the high court to know exact location and well being of a person. Generally it is filed when someone is taken into custody against his/her will and therefore by habeas writ her well-being is secured

A writ of habeas corpus is used to bring a prisoner or other detainee (e.g. institutionalized mental patient) before the court to determine if the person's imprisonment or detention is lawful. A habeas petition proceeds as a civil action against the State agent (usually a warden) who holds the defendant in custody. You need to apppoint someone who can file a Writ of Habeas Corpus on your behalf to get you out.
