I am a married woman and mother of two children. My elder son is 18 years and younger daughter 12 years. Husband works in central govt. defense sector. I am in private service. its been 20 years of marital life full of many struggles. Since last one year I am at my parents house bcos of whimsical behaviour of husband. He creates violent and abusive atmosphere at home on petty issues. He has strong objection over me and kids keeping any contact with my parents. But in society he proclaims to be a good n caring father. I am extremely afraid of his societal image and lies due to which I am unable to fight for myself. tried mediations thru relatives, but they insist me to go back as per his wish. he says she has gone on her own, so she has to come back on her own. He shuts all mediation talks. I am falling short of finances. 11 years back too, I faced similar situation. I went back when he came to take me showing tantrums bcos of my daughter's birth n defamation. Shd Divorce be option 4 me

If you feel you can not bear with the situation any more, divorce can ba an option for you. And there are 2 possibilities, one could that if both of you agree for mutual consent divorce then it will take only 6 months. But if he does not agree for divorce then you have to file case for contested divorce.

Dear Queriest as per your query you have mentioned that you are facing violence from your husband and he is being torturing you physically and mentally, in such case you are advised to file Domestic violence case against him so that whatever he has done will come forward before everyone you need to collect such evidence also against him, for more information about the same kindly call me.

Well, you have to take your own call whether you want to seek Divorce or Judicial Separation. You can apply to seek the Custody of your children. However, your children will decide with whom they want to live, whether you or with your Hubby.
