Guidance for compromise or patch up with mutual understanding

02-Dec-2023 (In Family Law)
I am married since 20 years, 2 kids. Husband is in Central Govt. I am working in private school. Since last 3 years, had to stay on and off at my parents house due to whimsical behaviour, violence and abuse of my husband towards me and my children. Had to file and FIR in june 2023 for physical and mental harrassment to me as well as my son who is 18 years old. Husband did not keep any contact for last 6 months, now sending apology via whats app and asking me to come back to house. Please guide.

If you're thinking of settling the matter and giving him a chance after all, it's a long-term relationship, then in that situation, with the consent of both of you, you can quashed the FIR from the Bombay High Court. And if you don’t want him, then in that situation, you may file divorce proceedings against him.

Well, if your Husband has become habituated to raise hands on you and your children, then, you can think of leaving him by giving Divorce. If you cannot give him a tit for tat reply in your Self Defence, when he physically beats you, then, there lies no point in getting beaten for no fault of your's.
