Girl's Parents opposing to marriage

15-Jan-2024 (In Family Law)
Hi, I am 32 years male and my girlfriend Is 26 years. Her parents, especially her dad is very strict regarding getting her married and he only wants to get married to the guy he chooses. However, we are determined to get married to each other by April. For safeguarding us regarding violence or any other action taken by her father, are there any legal procedures or complaint filing that needs to be done before we do a court marriage? I don't want her father to create any issues regarding us

As both of you have attained age of maturity, you people are free to take decisions without interference of your parents. If the girl apprehended difficulties from her parents then you should take help of an advocate to write a proper complaint and file it.

Hello, As you both legally major for the marriage and no law and no one can restrict you to get marry. but As you mentioned the situation where there are some chances of oppose by her parents. for that reason you can go to the nearest police station and put one application over there. which state that you both are major by law and you both want to stay together. and you are staying together by your own will. then police will intervene in your matter even if your gf father approach to police also. their several other legal ways and remedies are available for you. for more details and qerry then contact us and visit our website.
