Gifting family land to a family member

HiMy self Sekar , lives in abroad. I would like to gift all family land to my brother. I want to know the procedures. Would it require my present in India to do this? or I can give my consent to do the transfer?

First you can execute a power of attorney in favour of a reliable person in India to settle or gift your properties to your brother. The power of attorney is for the said specific purpose only. Your power of attorney will then be able to transfer the properties in favour of your brother.

Dear Mr Sekar, You can authorise some other person by giving power and execute the gift settlement deed in favour of your brother. The power of attorney must be properly attested by the appropriate authorities. Your presence is not needed.
