FD of intestate deceased as part of the estate

29-Apr-2023 (In Family Law)
My mother kept her cash in FDs. I was joint owner of Fixed Deposits with my mother. After she died I replaced my mother's name with my brother's name on the account, because the bank suggested that the rate will be same if kept till maturity. After FD's maturity my brother cashed all the FDs without telling me. I have some more siblings. Can this money be recovered as part of my mother's estate.

First of all you had made one mistake of choosing the option in FD that anyone can operate from both. Now you can file money suit in civil court also you can file complaint against him under penal provisions.

You must have removed your mothers name form the account right ? You can surely recover the amounts from your brothers by sending him a notice as he has taken the cash without your knowledge though you were a joint holder.
