Father sold family property without consent of legal heirs

15-Jul-2023 (In Family Law)
We have a property which was co-owned by our mother and father. Mother passed away about 15 years back and father remarried about 7 years back. Property disputes started immediately and last month father sold our joint family property without consent or release deed signed by other 2 legal heirs viz myself and my sister. I have filed police complaint against buyers and seller my father but they're saying it's a civil matter. What legal remedies do i have so possession doesn't go to new buyers? Right now tenant is sitting and using the property. Thanks Pritish

Generally police dont entertain civil disputes and straightaway deny from lodging a criminal case unless a clear documentary proofs are brought to them exhibiting obvious cheating or forgery of original documents. In your case you will have to send a legal notice to both of them and then initiate proceedings.
