father in law withholding my children's passport illegally

I am a NRI and currently living in UK. my wife and kids are staying with their parents in India. recently there was an altercation between me and fathwer in law and since then he has been blocking me from my kids and not allowing me to communicate and my kid's passports are also being forcefully detained by him. what can i do in this case? He has repeated history of visiting a psychiatrist for mental disorders and is currently under medication occassionally.
you can file petition before family court within the jurisdiction in which your children are permanently residing to bring an order to interact with your children through online and you can also seek permanent custody of children also
