Daughter's right to claim money from father for her marriage

If the daughter is an adult and she is capable of earning cannot ask money from her father.It is the discretion of court to decide whether daughter should get money or not. It depends on the father also whether he wants to give money or not.

I think there is no provision of law in India stating the right of a daughter to claim money for her marriage. A daughter can claim maintenance from her father untill marriage. It is the moral duty of a father to arrange marriage or give marriage of his daughter but, not a obligation enforceable by law of the land.

A daughter has every right like a son to claim property from her father in india. It is still the prerogative of a father to maintain a unmarried daughter and thereafter the death of a father a married daughter has right over the property unless the property has been gifted or bequeathed to another by a will

It is a very good question. Whether there is a provision of Law to Claim maintenance of a daughter till the date of her marriage from his father, then why there is no provision of law for claim the entire expenses of her marriage from her father, when she has love affairs and marry without the consent of her father or when she live with her mother separately from her father and mother is unable to expense the marriage cost.
My view is, it is the duty of Parliament to look into this matter and immediately make a law in this regard. Until then wait....
