Daughter adoption from first marriage

We got married 3 years back and this is my husband's second marriage, he has a daughter from her earlier marriage, The first wife died in a medical emergency post the baby's birth, and grown father's care all these years, she is 6 year old now and we have built good bonding over last 3 year I read CARA site we need to file a legal case in the local court. https://cara.ic.in/parents/Eg_step_parents.htmlnnI wish to legally adopt her to ensure all the records reflect my name for further purposes. what will be the process? nnDoes this need the above process or what will be the process to execute this in Karnataka? Yes you can get a adoption deed executed and get the necessary changes in her all government documents and educational institutions. you can file a suit in court if they official do not agree to change the name in records based on the adoption deed. there is also a judgement of court in respect of the same which states that you have a right to change the name, surname etc.
