CAW Mediation - Groom falsely claiming to spent double than bride

02-Jul-2023 (In Family Law)
We filed a complaint against my sister's husband in CAW cell because of domestic violence and dowry demands in the past. It's been only 1 year since their marriage. nWe provided admit list of X amount in which we have claimed only legit expenses and left some of the ignorable expenses. But my sister's husband is falsely claiming that he spent 2X amount on marriage. nHe has added those expenses which we didn't consider at the time of submitting our admit list. Moreover, he also has all the gold ornaments gifted by us at the time of marriage which he is claiming that my sister took it with her when she left her in-law's houseThe case is put to mediation. My query is that what can be done from here on ?

According to my opinion you will get benefits only when the FIR is registered u/s 498a against the husband and in-laws. Without that it will become difficult to fetch out anything from them as there is no pressure upon them to return your things. You can also indulge them in DV. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

In case mediation fails, the matter will be referred back to the CAW cell which will forward the same to the police station concerned for registration of an FIR. Its a sincere advise to engage a lawyer and act on his advise, else it will ruin your case. You have other remedies to avail under matrimonial laws

Hi You will need to file cases under the relevant laws to get relief. Maintenance decree will have to be obtained from the court directly. Please feel free to get in touch to discuss further in detail. Regards Adv. Abhinav Sharma

From hereon you can seek liberty to amend your claim, because now you got to know some new facts and hence, you are increasing your claim. Rest of the facts are matter of trail and therein it will become difficult for groom to prove his averments and only your lawyer can sift the grain from chaff in cross examination.
