Can petition/counter be filed in English

Can petition/counter affidavit be filed in English in the Civil/District courts in UP? Can proceedings take place in English if the petitioner/respondent is not quite competent in Hindi?

yes if you are not competent in Hindi then you can file your petition or counter affidavit in English in the all civil district courts in up. all the courts in Uttar Pradesh also allow the english written documents.
