In India, a husband's right to recover gold ornaments from his wife depends on the circumstances and ownership of the items. Ornaments given to the wife at the time of marriage are generally considered her exclusive property, known as Stridhan, and cannot be claimed by the husband. Only if there is clear evidence that the ornaments were gifted temporarily or under conditions other than Stridhan, may a recovery claim be possible.
