Bank giving info to third party

10-Mar-2023 (In Family Law)
I am an adult unmarried woman. The bank passbook of my PPF account is in custody of my father who wants to withdraw all my savings even though they were deposited by my mother. He is refusing to give me the passbook unless I give him all my account balance. I have informed my bank in writing about the situation, asked them to not give out my details to anyone, and have finally managed to get a new passbook issued after 2 years of hassle. Still, the bank is giving out my account info to my father and is even updating the old passbook. Moreover, the bank keeps stalling and harassing me in operating my own account. What action can be taken to prevent the bank from giving out my information?

hello client as i can see ur issue is really very much serious and harassing crime in the eyes 9f law . in your matter it seems tht the bank officials are trying to help your father to acess the ppf account in your name. in this matter you urgently need to take an legal action against your father through high court so tht the high court can urgently take status report of ur case and on urgent basis take adverse action against all the bank officials who are helping ur father in this illegal act .

You can approach banking ombudsman for the same. Banking ombudsman would deal with customer related enquiries and problems and provide a solution to that. Other than that, if your father is not a nominee then he cannot access information. Would suggest to change your account/ open a new account.
