Against a friend who conveys wrong information to my wife against me

If a frien conveys wrong information to a woman against her husband that brings problems in family, what can be done against this? I have valid proof.
you must send that friend a legal notice to the effect so that he gets scared and acts diligently and does not repeat in the near future anywhere, beyond this anything you do, it will be sheer unnecessary of litigation and wastage of your money until and unless its thats grave and serious, as i dont have entire details commenting specifically
