Husband and in laws not letting me live in their home

03-Apr-2023 (In Domestic Violence Law)
Sir, after 5 years of relationship me and my boyfriend got married on 16th feb, 2020. It was intercaste marriage. He told me that I’ll inform my family after marriage as If I tell them before they will never allowed. After 2 weeks of marriage he was not telling his parents nor ready to live with me and keep saying that I don’t want to leave my home. so I directly went to his home and told then about everything. His mother said do what ever you what I am not going to accept this marriage. So please leave my son alone. He also said the same. I said I am not going any where. I’ll live here as this is my marital house. They they all abused me and thrown me out of their house. My husband blocked my no. I am not able to contact him. I went to nearest police station. Police said we can’t help you as this is domestic violence case. Please tell me what should I do, I only want to leave with them because I know he is doing everything under family pressure . Please suggest me.

Dear queriest,
as per your query if your husband and his family members are not accepting, then firstly you can visit women's commission, then if it works then it's well and good, if not then you can file for domestic violence against your husband and in-laws, Secondly make sure if he doing this all under his family pressure if not then you should make a complaint of cheating against him under the provisions of IPC. for more information in detail kindly call me for the same

Madam, you should file for Restitution of Conjugal Rights.

Please tell me what all proof do you have in respect of the said Marriage?

Also please think concretely whether you want to stay with him as whether he will take a stand

you have a remedy to file a Section 9 application which will give you restitution to your Conjugal rights with your husband. the has to be filed before the Family Court.
apart from the same police has rightly suggested you to file Domestic Violence Case against your husband and inlaws before the Magistrate Court.
