How can I get duplicate copy of death certificate.

My husband died in Nov 2010 after marriage of 6 months and I left my in laws home post that. Now they refused to share my husband death certificate with me. I need the death certificate for some legal paperwork. please advise how can I get duplicate copy of death certificate.
there should be a registrar of births and deaths. you should apply to him and get a certified copy. if that doesnt work, the only other way is to take your in-laws to court. else you could file a complaint with the police to pressurise them into giving it to you.
