What should I do if husband filed divorce

I married 3 years back.due to domestic violence in in-laws house living with my parents for last 2.5 years.In-laws were agreed for a reconciliation initially but now husband filed divorce. I am a poor Hindu girl what to do next.

You have right to agree for divorce. You need to contest. File your objections and demand monthly expenses also for yourself. I you can not afford advocate than you can file an application before district judge with request to provide advocate on government cost.

In your case you hav two ways you can file a domestic violence case against your husband and his family or you can make a police complaint under section 498a of IPC . or second is you may file maintenance case under section 125 of crpc.
