Want a divorce from my husband but he is not allowing me to separate

21-Dec-2023 (In Divorce Law)
I have decided to end my marriage and discussed with my husband for divorce but he is not allowing me for separation and every time threatening me that he will suicide if I leave, this is causing mental trauma on me. I want to know how to proceed in this situation and can separate from my husband or proceed for divorce without any kind of hassle. Reason behind divorce - 1. Financially not supporting as I am working, and forcing to contribute money in every single household things even if I am not willing to, also using abusive languages if I disagree to pay 2. Mentally harassing every time by threating me that he will suicide (not sure if he is actually intended to do that or only threatens me) if I disagree on any point or if any clash continues for bit long time I don't want any life threating issue for him as well as for me by taking any legal action against him, also not willing to do any police complaint for this. Just want a hassle free divorce, please guide.

Sorry to know about your situation. If both the parties are ready for divorce then you may file mutual divorce petition and it will be easier and faster process. If any of the party is not ready then it results into contested divorce. I your situation...

Threatening every time to commit suicide is also one of the strong ground to ask divorce from court on the ground of mental cruelty and for that you have to file petition in court for contested divorce. And in the same petition you may add other difficulties such as financially not supporting etc.

Well, do not come under such pressure tactics. You lodge a note to Magistrate, saying that, you shall not be held responsible, in case, your Hubby chooses to commit suicide. State the reasons for same, why you should not be held responsible and that's it, after it, file a Contested Divorce Petition in Court.
