Validation of divorce by Society

Hii..my relative got married in Haryana..after some reason they separated. But separation (divorce) has been granted by Samaj members or we may call some Haryana society Mahasabh (Panchayat) on hand written receipt/ papers. Is that really valid or not? Can she get marry on said papers.?Bcoze someone told her she should have got divorce degree. What's is the way out now.?

hello only court has power to dissolve valid marriage and grant divorce. She need to obtain decree of divorce from court and thereafter only she should remarry to avoid future complications. handwritten papers have no value as there are legal provisions

No it is not a legal document. Both have to file mutual divorce under section 13-B before court and they will grant the divorce decree to both the parties and after the said decree they can remarry any where they want. Thanks for contacting LawRatoPartner.
