UK Divorce decree will be valid in India?

21-May-2024 (In Divorce Law)
Hi, Uk No fault Divorce will be valid in India? They say if its mutual or you have contested and lost, its will be valid in India. I need clarity on contesting. In UK you cannot contest divorce as its no fault. But you can contest the Jurisdiction. Just wanted to know if someone contest the jurisdiction and lost , then no fault uk divorce will be valid or not valid as though it was contested for jurisdiction but grounds on which divorce is given is not valid. Please clarify this. Thanks

In case of Mutual Divorce the UK decree will be valid in India and will be legally binding. But there are certain conditions under which the decree is not considered to be valid if it is not in accordance with the Indian laws but for that we would require more details in your matter, in order to give adequate legal advise. Please feel free to contact for further legal assistance.

yes a decree passed by a court of law in the United Kingdom is acceptable in India. you can also file a separate case for divorce by way if mutual consent. and court can grant it. the divorce by mutual consent is granted by court in India is time bound process and you can get divorce in a month.
