To claim maintenance whether registration of marriage necessary

husband given torture for dowry and for his safty he given false complaint dat i stolen his gold and ran away.in enquiry it founded as false complaint and case closed der only. now i wnt to file maintainance case on him. for maintainance case is mrg registration necessary?

The registration of marriage nor the certificate of regeneration is not necessary for claiming maintenance case. You have to produce the proof of marriage, and you are his wife and you both have children. if any. Even like marriage invitation, marriage hall receipts, temple receipts, marriage photos, driving licence, voter card, Aadhar etc., all this documents shall prove your are his wife. But in your case, the police complainant itself is the self explain/prove your are his wife.
