I'm Planning a mutual divorce with my husband, and currently, all my valuable jewelry and belongings are with my in-laws .My lawyer has asked me to come to court sign the divorce petition, and once that's done, the exchange of our belongings will be supervised by the magistrate. Is it advisable to go ahead and sign the petition under these circumstances?

Dear Madam, It must happen before signing. First check all your valuables in the Court and take into your possession then sign otherwise you may lose. Please be careful to list out all the valuables and place them on the table of the court. Sometimes they may say that the same will be produced or given to you on the next date of hearing. Always take demand draft or direct transfer of your alimony if any.
