Received notice from my husband through court

Hi All,
I have received the legal notice from the court by my husband to appear before the court by given time and date.
Can I miss to attend the court given timeline. Or do I need to attend and participate?
if you don't attend you can send your advocate to attend the case of you or your advocate don't attend the court the court will consider you as Exparte means you don't want to contest the case and court will proceed with the case without your appearance

If you fail to appear subsequently, Court proceedings will continue without you but as if you participating in
