Process for divorce when marriage is not registered in govt.

HI, I want to know know if there is requirement of divorce when the marriage is not registered in Govt. and marriage has been done in the church ?
If it is required what will be the process for mutual understanding divorce ?
Divorce has to be obtained under Indian Divorce Act. There is provision for Mutual Consent Divorce.
Irrespecrive of regiatration of marriage is done or not, subsequent to church marriage, Divorce has to be obtained through court.

In India marriage need not be registered to get divorce. However divorce is a must whether marriage is registered or not. Your spouse may go for criminal action against you if you get divorce and marry for second time. It is better to apply and get either mutual divorce or otherwise.
