Power of attorney or how to handle violent wife
05-Jun-2023 (In Divorce Law)
I’m writing for my hindu friend. He has been separated for two years and not seen his wife. She is violent and abusive. He has previous photos where she scratched him. He is afraid she will bring him physical harm as in beating or poisoning if he has to return to his city to sign the papers at the court. Does he not have some way he can protect himself and not have to see her to sign the papers, if she will agree to sign them? What can he do since he is afraid of her and her violence? Can he file a divorce with her without having to see her or meet her again?
Hi,
Need not worry. You may initiate a divorve proceeding against your wife under the act of credit.
Secondly, if there is a prima facie circumstance where you find immediate threat against your wife then you may seek police protection as well.
