NRI Divorce/ harassment /dowry/ suggestion

I came to USA last year trusting my husband. My in-laws also came to USA in May this year. I have been harassed badly by my husband and his family here and they have filed for divorce here last months. As I do not have any support here and all my gold is taken out by my husband and his family. Some gold is kept in India. It is very difficult to prove that the gold and other expensive things belong to me.Can I come to India and file a case against my husband and his family?

Hi In case your marriage was solemnised in India, you may come here and take appropriate legal action. However, in case there are proceedings already going on in the US and you have participated and agreed to US jurisdiction then you won’t be able to appeal against that in India. You can file complaint against your husband in US. you lodge a complaint of harassment and of physical abuse in local police station in US. things are very different in us they may take strict action against your husband and in-laws too.
