Need clarification on the jurisdiction of Domestic violence in India

Hello Sir/Ma'am,
I am Canadian permanent resident living for 10 years in abroad. I got married in March 2023 and obtained Canadian PR for my wife in December 2023. She came to Canada and we started cohabiting together. I found lots of issues, came in April 2024, left her in India and returned back. Now she has filed DV. DV jurisdiction should in India or Canada?
In case of Domestic Violence the jurisdiction is decided by the fact that where the aggrieved person permanently or temporarily resides. The jurisdiction can also be decided in the place where the cause of action arises. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

It depends that if your marriage has solemnised in India and one of you is a citizen of Indian then the jurisdiction would also be u India!

wife can file case at place where she lives with her parents or she can also files case as per place where marriage happens... did you receive court notice?? till you not recive court notice you have not to appear before court..and ones you recived notice file strong replay.. contact us for more free legal advice
