You are entitled to live with dignity and without harassment in your matrimonial home. The behaviour described amounts to cruelty and domestic violence. You can file a complaint under the Domestic Violence Act seeking protection order, right to residence, and maintenance for yourself and your child. If the situation is unsafe, you can also approach the local police or Women’s Helpline for immediate protection. Please share details of incidents and any evidence (messages, witnesses) so I can prepare a legal notice or petition to safeguard your rights before considering divorce.

You have strong legal remedies available. Continuous abuse, denial of food, and harassment by in-laws amounts to domestic violence under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005. You can file a complaint before the Protection Officer/Police seeking immediate protection, residence rights, and maintenance for yourself and your child. You are also entitled to approach the Magistrate Court for restraining orders against your in-laws. In addition, you may claim maintenance under Section 125 Cr.P.C. and even seek custody and protection of your daughter. Please do not tolerate this cruelty silently – approach a local advocate immediately to initiate legal action and secure your rights.

You are facing domestic violence under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 (DV Act). You can file a DV case in court seeking protection, residence, compensation, and custody of your child. Also, you may lodge a police complaint under Section 498A IPC for cruelty and harassment. Collect evidence like call recordings, messages, and witness statements. Approach a Protection Officer or Women’s Helpline immediately for safety and legal support.
