My lawyer wants to claim my ligation charges
13-Apr-2024 (In Divorce Law)
My husband filed a divorce case against me last year. The judge told my husband that he has to transfer me litigation charges which were 11,000/- because he filed the case so he will have to do so. I have a lawyer from DLSA (government lawyer), and since i recieved the litigation charges, he has been asking me for that litigation charges to give it to him. Should i give it to him? Is it a law ?Some lawyers said that you should not give charges to him. Kindly explain...
The litigation charges belong to you only and will be transferred to your bank account only. And since your advocate is a DLSA lawyer he/she is getting his/her full salary like drafting charges and appearance fees from the government. So you should not give him/her anything. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.
The litigation charges granted to you by the Hon'ble Court is for you to retain. DLSA Lawyer is not entitled to receive any amount out of it. You should not give him as he has been receiving per appearance fees from DLSA. Tell the judge to change the DLSA lawyer if he still insist for that amount
